The Ingredients of E-Liquid
All electronic smoking devices, whether they use cartomiser cartridges or an e-liquid reservoir tank, require e-liquid in order to create vapour.
Nicotine is the stimulant found in cigarettes. With electronic cigarettes, nicotine is delivered without the tar, carbon monoxide and other harmful chemicals created when you burn tobacco, making e cigarettes a less harmful way of getting a satisfying nicotine hit.
Without the harmful chemicals found in tobacco cigarettes, nicotine in isolation is about as harmful as caffeine, although far more addictive. E liquid provides a much purer delivery of nicotine for e cig and vaporizer users compared to traditional cigarettes.
E Liquid Flavourings
Nicotine has very little flavour itself, so e liquids have flavours added in order to create exciting and intense tastes for the user. Many smokers initially seek a similar taste to their favourite cigarette brand when they first switch to an electronic device. For this reason, e liquids come in a variety of tobacco flavours and strengths. Many users soon move to try tastier fruit flavours, because they soon realise that they ‘enjoyed’ the taste of tobacco because they had to in order to get a nicotine hit, and there are in fact many much nicer flavours and tastes available, that still provide a great nicotine hit.
Propylene Glycol is the main ingredient in E Liquid and is used to dilute the nicotine and flavouring mix to a suitable strength and taste. Propylene Glycol also creates the vapour which holds the nicotine and flavouring in suspension and allows it to be inhaled. Propylene Glycol usually makes up around 80% of the e liquid solution.
Vegetable Glycerine adds sweetness to the vapour as well as helping to create more vapour than would be created with Propylene Glycol alone. Most e liquid mixes have between 5% and 20% vegetable glycerine content.
There are many great flavours of e liquid available including; different tobacco’s, cherry, menthol, apple, lemon, pineapple, strawberry, coffee, cola, mint, banana and many more….. choose your favourites HERE
